The Concordia Language Villages, nestled on beautiful lakefront property of Bemidji, Minnesota, is an internationally recognized and respected world language and culture education program founded in 1961. Close to 9,500 kids ages 7 to 18, as well as more than 500 adults and teachers, from all 50 states and 38 countries take part in a Village experience each year.

 Attention Junior Members

GBU sponsors two members ages 8 to 18 to attend a one- or two-week summer stay at the German Village of the Concordia Language Villages. GBU will sponsor two members by paying each with the full tuition that includes lodging, food and activities along with providing an additional $200 to each recipient to be used for out-of-pocket expenses at the village or for travel.

This program offers young people the opportunity to learn about traditions, languages and foods of the German culture. Arts and crafts, singing and dancing, as well as a wide range of sports, are integrated into this exciting program.

 Attention Adult Members

GBU will sponsor two adult GBU members ages 18 or older to attend the German Immersion Adult Program offered in the early fall season at the Concordia Language Villages.

The program provides the opportunity for adults to become immersed in the German culture through activities, language and foods. The beautiful village in which you will stay is located on Turtle River Lake. It has its own kitchen and dining hall, store, bank, outdoor sports field and on-site first-aid center and maintenance staff.

GBU will sponsor two members by paying each with the full registration fee that includes lodging, food and activities. The participant will be responsible for travel costs and all other out-of-pocket expenses at the Village.
